The season finale of “Game of Thrones” season 7 just aired, and it’s full of reunions, game changers, and long held secrets being revealed. Many would call this a fantastic, and epic finale after a shorter than normal season. There are definitely some plot holes throughout the season that sadly don’t get resolved, but the massive final episode more than makes up for it. Coming in at one hour and twenty-one minutes, this is the longest episode in Game of Thrones history, and it is jam packed.

It stays true to the central theme of the season, which is ice versus fire, or more accurately, the dead versus the living. What it also does is stay true to the theme of fan service. This season has seen many

reunions between beloved characters, the most notable being the reunion between the Stark children, while also giving us those quirky one-liners that pertain to some of the many “memes” have been made about the show. “Still rowing” is the most obvious example of one of the many one-liners that also ties into another form of fan service, the returns of beloved characters that haven’t been seen in ages.

Coming in at one hour and twenty-ones minutes, this is the longest episode in Game of Thrones history, and it is jam packed. The season has ended, and every living man, woman, and child have a part to play in “The Great War” that is to come. Who will survive the war against the dead? Will there be anyone left to sit on the Iron Throne? For those of us who can’t wait, the final season can’t come soon enough.
