Both of the men’s and women’s cross country teams were in action Oct. 8 with the men finishing 19th overall and the women finishing 17th overall.
The women ran a five-kilometer race today, while the men ran a eight-kilometer race.
Freshman Seth Maston was the first Ranger to step foot across the finish line with a time of 28:44, which was a new personal record for him.

The next Ranger runner to stride across the finish was Manuel Reyes who clocked in at a time of 30:35. Coming across the line a place behind Reyes was Brandon Widner, who recorded a time of 31:25.

Parker Osborn came in behind Reyes and Widner with a time of 33:18

Ian Licea and Thomas Decker closed things out for the Rangers with Licea being clocked at a time of 34:20, and Decker striding through the line at a time of 34:26.
For the women, Renee Contreras in her third race as a member of the Cross Country team was the first Ranger to cross the finish line, breaking a Northwestern record time of 19:25.
Following shortly behind Contreras were Clara O’Connor and Rebecca Black. O’Connor glided across the finish line with a time of 21:18, while Black cruised across at a time of 21:45.
Crossing the line behind O’Connor and Black were Lexi Hastings and Capri Gahr. Hastings completed the race with a time of 22:57, and Gahr clocked a time of 23:59 as she passed the finish line.

Ana Parra-Concha closed things out for Northwestern recording a time of 29:13.

The Rangers will look to build on this week’s results at 9 a.m. on Oct. 22 in Durant.
