One of Northwestern’s own, junior Natalie Fahey, was named GAC co-player of the week.

According to Riderangersride.com, Fahey has a total of 142 kills off 333 attempts for a hitting percentage of .306 this year. She has also recorded 27 service aces and 47 total blocks on the season.

With 20 kills, Fahey led Northwestern on Friday when they faced Henderson State. She added 12 kills on Saturday as well when they took on the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist.

“I am very happy that Natalie is collecting this honor, she has been playing well the past couple of weeks and it’s great that she is getting recognized for it.” said head coach Fredrick Wagner.

During the match against  Ouachita Baptist last Saturday, The Rangers took the game to all five sets.

Northwestern claimed the victory, winning 3-2. Ashanti Banks added 16 kills for the Ranger offense.

Korina Lillard led the defensive game with a total of 18 digs. Kaydee Yukawa led the team with 43 assists. Overall the Rangers finished with 81 kills, 14 blocks, 73 assists and 64 digs.

Northwestern took on Henderson State on Friday and went five sets as well, winning 3 sets over 2.

Hayley Brattain and Nora To’omalatai led the team with 13 kills apiece.

Carley Geer led defensively with 20 total digs. Yukawa led one again in assist with 36 this match.

The Rangers finished overall with 65 kills, 10 aces, 62 assists and 60 digs.

Ranger Volleyball also took part in a three game tournament on Tuesday night at home.

In the first game, the Rangers squared off with the Fort Hays State Tigers and were swept three straight sets.

Folowing the loss, the Red-and-Black faced Oklahoma Panhandle State.

Northwestern made a quick sweep of the Aggies as they took the match 3-2 (25-15, 25-20, 25-16).

The Rangers (9-14, 6-5) will be back in action tonight against Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse tonight and then Oklahoma Baptist at 2 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla. on Saturday.
