The Student Government Association will be hosting “The Voice Northwestern,” and all are encouraged to participate.

The competition is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. March 9 in the Herod Hall auditorium. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three competitors in the amount of $150 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place.

Only the first 15 entries will be accepted. A maximum of four minutes will be allotted per performance.

Prior to the event on March 9, a mandatory rehearsal is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 8 in the Herod Hall auditorium. If you will not be able to make it to dress rehearsal, you will need to get in contact with Kaylyn Hansen or you will be disqualified from the competition.

It will also be at the discretion of the Northwestern Student Government if the performance is deemed appropriate or inappropriate.

Those interested in participating will need to fill out and turn in the application by 5 p.m. March 7 to the Housing Office, Fine Arts Rm. 131. The application is located in your Northwestern emails. Potential participants will also be able to pick one up at the Housing Office.

“This competition, despite it being called ‘The Voice,’ is not just for those with singing talents,” said, Nick Villalobos, SGA president. “We SGA officers would like to see everyone on this campus come to this event. And, those with any type of talent, we want to see you participate in it as well.”
