Northwestern students enjoyed the annual Bahama Breakaway, Thursday, April, 21, on Alva’s downtown square.
The event was from 4-7:30 p.m. and was sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA). They hold this fun event for the college students at Northwestern before they head into the dreaded finals.
The Alva Chamber of Commerce cooked free hamburgers and hotdogs for students.
There was also a 100-foot obstacle course, inflatable wrecking ball arena, dunk tank set up on the square for students to enjoy. There were also free Frosty Joe’s Sno-Cones provided by SGA. Students had a chance for cash prizes in a volleyball tournament.
This year the SGA had more than $300 to offer in prizes as well as gift card giveaways throughout the event.
