Your attitude is how you react to whatever happens to you in life. It is that simple. The sum total of those reactions to whatever life throws at you is what your attitude is made up of.What is amazing is we humans tend to always react a certain way to circumstances. For some people it doesn’t take a lot of offending them to get them beat up and tired of everyone around them. For some others it would take a lot to get them to be bitter. It is all in the attitude that they chose to display. You see, attitude is built up over a certain period of time. Your actions in time become your habits, your habits in time form your attitude, and your attitude in time becomes your character.

If you want to be truly successful and become your best self it has to start with building the right attitude. Whenever anyone thinks of success, or becoming the best in something, their minds immediately run to factors like hard work and determination. Those are all great qualities we need to possess but I tell you the truth; the right attitude is where  we need to start. A right attitude will take you where talent will not. Some of the best people in whatever they do are not the best because they have more talent than others. Their success simply comes down to them maintaining the right attitude.

The right attitude will make you a leader wherever you go. When I talk about being a leader, I am not necessarily talking about having the highest position in your school, or even being the president of a prestigious school group. It could include all of that but to me real leadership is living in such a manner that people are drawn to follow you. When I say leadership, I mean how you influence others. I am a soccer fanatic, and I really love to watch the English Premier League. I am a loyal and true fan of Manchester United, which is considered as one of the most prestigious soccer teams in the world. Fans and critics alike admire our captain, Wayne Rooney, because of one quality he has got that sets him above the others. It is his attitude. Wayne is an amazing footballer (soccer player), no doubt and his achievements show  that. However he doesn’t always perform spectacularly on the pitch. There are days when he has a very average game, and even some days when he has bad games. Despite this his attitude of optimism and desire for his team always shines out. A lot of times when his team becomes exhausted and grows tired legs, he is sometimes the only one out there pushing himself to the brink, running around, chasing the ball and striving for a team win. When others get the day off, and spend all the time with friends having fun, he takes on extra training. That, my friends, is what I call having a right attitude.

It could be in another area of life that is different from sports, but having the right attitude will take you far.
