Northwestern’s Women’s golf team had a great showing in the opening round of the Ranger Invitational on September 16th in Enid, Oklahoma.


The lady Rangers led after the opening round and had a score of 342 and were in front of Lincoln University by 28 strokes heading into the second day of the tournament.


After day one, junior Ashley Watts and sophmore Madison Masch both had a score of 83 and were sitting in a good position tied for first place. Samantha Friday finished in 3rd after day one with a score of 86.


On day 2, the Women’s team finished in first place. Ashley Watts and Samantha Friday tied for second place as the top finishers for the Rangers.


Northwestern’s Men’s Golf Team had a great performance in the opening round of the Ranger Invite on September 16th in Enid, Oklahoma.


The Men’s team finished in second and third place after day one. Parker Rehorn finished first place after day one with a score of 71. Keenan Hofstad and Ben Huxtable tied for third place at the end of day one with a score of 74.


On day two, the men’s team finished in second place. Only two points behind tournament champions Oklahoma Panhandle.


Freshman Keenan Hofstad finished the tournament in second place with a score of 147. Parker Rehorn finished closely behind in third place with a score of 148.


The Women’s team will compete again next at the UCO classic Sept. 29th- Oct.1st at The Golf Club of Edmond in Edmond, Oklahoma.


The Men’s team will take almost a month off as they will go compete again on Oct.13th-15th at the Midwestern State Invitational at the Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas.
