Last weekend, the rodeo team went to Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Guymon to compete in their final competition of the year. The rodeo teams were once again in their dominate fashion. There, a duo of men were able to win an event in their final rodeo for NWOSU.
Hazen Sparks placed in a tie for 7th in the tie down event.
In the breakaway, Katie Ayres was 9th.
Emmett Edler was able to tie for 5th in the steer wrestling event.
Jacob Haren and Rhett Murray together won the team roping event with their total time of 14.5 seconds.
The men’s team finished 2nd overall at the end of the rodeo. The women’s team were not able to score any points.
To finish off the year, the Rangers all placed high up in the standings in the events they competed in.

Edler sits 2nd in the men’s standings for the All Around. Edler has scored a total of 1125 points throughout the year. Sparks is 6th with his 476 total points scored.
Although there were some rough patches in the year, the NWOSU Rodeo team as a whole did really well. They started dominate, were consistently dominate, and ended the year dominate. Even with the seniors leaving at the end of the year, next year they will no doubt continue to be their dominate selves in the Central Plains Region Rodeo Standings.
