Hello! I am Ingrid, the photo editor here at Northwestern News. I am an Alva native. I grew up here, graduated from Alva High School, and now, hopefully, next semester I’ll graduate from here at Northwestern.
Not only am I a photo editor for the newspaper, but I also have my own photography business, Ingrid Infinity Photography. I always say photography was my first love. I got my first camera my junior year of high school in the year 2020. Then during my senior year, I started taking portraits and even took many of my classmate’s senior photos. Now I specialize in senior portrait photography. You will probably end up seeing me around town or on campus having photo sessions.
I am a mass media and communication major because I really enjoy all of it. I love creating content, digital marketing, advertising, strategic communications, event planning and writing. Many of these I already do in having a photography business, and I hope to improve on all of these.
This year, one of my goals is to work on my non-portrait photography skills. I hope to capture more candid, in the moment, images. In other words, improve my photojournalism. I do a lot of portrait photography, but I love exploring other types of photography. I hope to do more sports photography this year as well. I also want to become an overall better writer.
I enjoy all types of art from singing, dancing, photography, writing, graphic design and painting. I am a creative soul, and it is what I enjoy doing in my free time. I also really enjoy reading and have read a thousand thriller books.
A fun fact about me is I am a self-taught drummer. I am part of the worship band at my church, Alva Wesleyan Church. There are times when I sing, but most of the time, I am the drummer. I absolutely love it and love that I get to use these talents to worship the Lord.
