“Monster” is a one-act historical horror play by Don Zolidis. On October 1 through 3 students and Alva citizens can watch this one-act in Fellers Family Auditorium in Herod Hall. Admission for students and senior citizens is $5, for Nortwestern employees it is $7, and for general admission it is $10.
Jaden Matthews, a senior speech and theatre major from Hennessey is directing the show as her senior capstone project.
The performance will happen Oct. 1 at 7:00 p.m., Oct. 2 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday Oct. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
“Monster” reimagines the lives of several of history’s best-known writers and the summer that inspired Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.” Northwestern presents the play through a special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
The one-act includes several short pieces, each with its own cast “Frakenstein,” “A Discovery,” “The Skull,” “Fragment of a Novel,” “The Dead Bride,” and “The Grey Room.”
The principal cast is made up of Justus Durham a freshman from Alva majoring in speech and theatre, Abigail Guatney a freshman from Granby, Missouri majoring in speech and theatre, Aidan Slater a sophomore from Laverne majoring in elementary education, Kendra Puebla a sophomore from Felt majoring in psychology, Dayton Masters a freshman from Hardtner Kasas majoring in media and communication.
