Residents have moved into Ament Hall following a five-month renovation that brought new laundry facilities, updated living spaces and improvements to the building’s heating and air conditioning systems.

Ament Hall has been under construction since last spring. By the end of this week, residents will have completed their move into the renovated residence hall.

The five-month renovation project began around May 15, 2026 and was largely completed in early October. This week, residents moved from Coronado and Cunningham halls into the renovated building.

The renovations added laundry rooms on each floor, water bottle refill stations in the hallways, moveable furniture in the rooms and newly furnished and redesigned lounge areas. Improvements to the heating and air conditioning systems, along with other technical upgrades, were also made to create a safer, more comfortable living environment.

“I know the process has taken a little bit of time and a little bit longer than we expected, and that kind of seems to be the case with a lot of construction projects,” said Calleb Mosburg, vice president of student affairs and enrollment management and Title IX coordinator. “However, we are excited the guys can get in there, we are excited the space is, for the most part, brand new.”

Mosburg explained that the bathrooms were among the few areas left largely untouched during the renovation because they had been updated just a few years ago.

“We hope that they get a chance to really enjoy the space the rest of this fall, the spring and the future years,” Mosburg said.

For now, both men’s residence halls are overseen by resident assistant Ken Irving. Although moving in the middle of the semester could present challenges, residents appear pleased with their new space.

“I honestly like it a lot more than the old building,” said Kennedy McGee. “It’s a lot nicer and cleaner, I like the ability to move the furniture around and get the room set up how I like it.”
