Even though the current semester is still new, students need to start thinking about spring enrollment.

The first day of enrollment for next semester is Oct. 21.

There is an even earlier deadline for students applying for a bachelor’s degree.  Those applications are due in the Registrar’s Office by Oct. 15. To find the application on the NWOSU website, go to the A-Z index, scroll down to the bachelor degree, click on the link and print it off.  Include the $25 registration fee.

But for those who are not graduating and must register for spring semester, the Registrar’s Office offers the following tips:

Those who need their last general education class to graduate need to get an early jump on enrollment in those classes, since they usually are among the first to fill up. The Registrar’s Office opens at 8 a.m., as does the online enrollment. Many people think that online enrollment opens early, but that is only a rumor; it opens at the same time as the Registrar’s Office.

Officials advise students to make an appointment early with their advisor to get the enrollment form filled out. Advisors are busy and may not be available on short notice.   Students wanting a specific schedule, class or teacher have a better chance of getting it if they get an early start.

Make sure you have all the forms filled out, course numbers correct and a course key number. Having that information cuts down on the amount of time it takes to enroll.  Athletes should make sure they have their coach’s signature and enough hours to maintain eligiblity.

Make sure you have your student ID number on your enrollment form. This will also cut down on registration time in there and make it easier on the person helping you.

For this semester, Ws or Fs issued for first eight week classes must be in to the Registrar’s Office by Tuesday.  The last day to drop first eight week class is Sept. 29.  Ws or Fs are issued on dropped courses for 16-week classes Oct. 13.
