College basketball fans, it’s that time of year again for the 2015 NCAA Final Four. Throughout the 2014-15 collegiate basketball campaign, there’s one team in particular I’ve favored to win it all, and that would be the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Before anyone criticizes me for my analysis, think about the numbers 38 and 0.
38 and 0 would give a description of the Wildcats current undefeated record this season.
Why are the Kentucky Wildcats the best collegiate basketball program in the country? First, let’s start with athleticism. Head coach John Calipari’s recruiting strategy over the years has given him the ability to acquire some of the best high school basketball prospects nationwide.
However, most of the players Calipari coached in the past came to the collegiate level ready to compete at the professional level in the NBA. One of those players in particular this season would be 7-foot monster Willie Cauley-Stein.
Cauley-Stein is a wild beast by definition. From a close analytical look, to be 7 feet tall with incredible ball-handling skills, along with his acrobatic dunks each night, look for Cauley-Stein to be a force in this year’s final four.
This Saturday afternoon, the 2015 NCAA Final Four will consist of the Kentucky Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils, Michigan State Spartans, and Wisconsin Badgers. Kentucky is set to play Wisconsin in the first contest, while Michigan State will battle with the Blue Devils of Duke for a trip to the national championship.
Who will prevail this weekend? Well, since the Wildcats at undefeated on the season at 38 and 0, I look for them to advance to the national championship. Go Wildcats!
