Have you picked up your copy of the newspaper? You are awesome. Now go get you a bag of popcorn and be prepared. I am going to introduce to you the best movies of all time. Most of the movies I am going to list are from the ‘90s and I have no shame being a ‘90s kid. Let’s go to a quick tour to the movies from the good old days and ‘00s.
“Léon: The Professional” – The cast members include Gary Oldman (Norman of the Drug Enforcement Admininistration), Jean Reno (Léon) and Natalie Portman (Mathilda). The plot is that the hit man Léon takes in Mathilda, who lost her parents, murdered by Norman, and keeps her. As the story goes by, Mathilda starts learning how to live as a hit man. Even though the story is based on messed-up living, I really liked the humanity that a cold-hearted man has. This is the dude who can take care of his plant and a 12-year-old girl.
“Titanic” – This is a huge and famous masterpiece from 90s made by the director James Cameron and stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. People might think three and a half hours is slightly too much for a romantic movie. Truly, I remember the day this movie first came out in theatres and we decided to go watch; afterwards, I found myself sleeping on a comfy theatre seat, holding a large popcorn cup and wondering why people are on rescue boats.
‘The Mask’ – Stars Jim Carrey (Stanley) and Cameron Diaz (Tina). People may remember its iconic character as a green-faced rowdy in suits. I have to admit that this movie totally got me from the beginning to the end. The story begins when Stanley picks up the “mask,” which has an evil spirit. Whenever he wears the mask, he transforms into a heroic clown (indeed, he does not have a honking red nose). This dude can make a tommy gun out of a balloon, pull a huge sledgehammer out of his pants and probably run 70 mph. “The Mask” is definitely a winning comedy movie that may be known for decades. If you are seeking the ultimate comedy movie, this is your shot.
“Black Hawk Down” – Booyah! This is my favorite non-fiction movie that I have watched more than 10 times. The story takes place in Mogadishu, Somalia, in the early ‘90s. The event is officially known as the Battle of Mogadishu today. This movie is about the U.S. soldiers and the Delta Force cooperating in a mission that supposedly lasts for approximately 30 minutes, yet it eventually turns into bullet-crisscrossing hell. The movie stars Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom and William Fichtner. A quote that I love from this film was, “No one gets left behind!”
“28 Weeks Later” – One shot, one opportunity. Being a fan of zombie movies, I had to list this. This is a great zombie movie that you want to watch. In fact, most zombie movies often fail to present the cause of the apocalypse and do not have a clear plot but continuous gore that only gives the audience nausea. This movie successfully reveals why and how zombie apocalypse started and the destination of the survivors. Jeremy Renner and Rose Byrne star. The movie “28 Days Later” came out beforehand.
These are some of the greatest movies that I have ever watched and thought werefantastic. Well, I am to finish my article right around here since good old movies are calling my name. Adiós!
