The Oklahoma City Thunder unveiled their third alternate jersey for the 2015-16 season.  The Thunder will debut the sunset colored uniforms on Nov. 1 in Oklahoma City against the Denver Nuggets according to NBA.com.

The Thunder is one of the most popular teams in the NBA.

With stars like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, a lot of attention has been brought to the Oklahoma City franchise.  With added attention brings new jerseys in today’s NBA.

According to NBA.com, the new uniform’s bold color pairs with “OKC” in navy block lettering on the front to showcase the team’s hometown pride and reflect the saturated, blended colors of the Oklahoma skies at sunset.

Brian Byrnes, Thunder senior vice president of Sales and Marketing said.  “This new uniform not only features another of our primary team colors, it also reinforces the strong connection our team has to our hometown and home state.” “The ‘OKC’ on the front of the jersey echoes the chant that rings through Chesapeake Energy Arena during Thunder home games. This sunset-colored uniform adds a fresh perspective on the identity our team has built over the past seven seasons,” Bryrnes said.

Passionate Thunder fan and Northwestern senior Luis Morales isn’t a fan of the new look.  “I don’t like them, I think they are too generic and if you’re going to get alternate uniforms then make them pop,” Morales said.  “I like the effort of trying to add to the jerseys we already have but I think they shouldn’t be so conservative.”

In a recent article, Zach Lowe of Grantland.com ranked the OKC Thunder logo dead last in the NBA.  “No team has worse art, top to bottom, and Nike will push for an overhaul once it replaces Adidas as the league’s apparel partner in 2017. Nike and the Thunder are already talking,” Lowe said.

According to NBA.com, the Thunder will wear these uniforms 18 games this season and all of the other alternate uniforms will be worn throughout the season, which kicks off Oct 28 against the Spurs.

Preseason action starts Oct. 7 against the Timberwolves at 7 p.m.
