Northwestern Baptist Colligate Ministries kicked off their Freshman Night event Aug. 26 with games, food and fellowship.

“Freshman Night is a safe place where freshmen can come express their faith, meet other freshmen and get to know upperclassmen involved in the BCM,” said Saydy Graybill, a BCM student leader.

Freshman Night happens every other Thursday. Participants are served a meal before focusing on topics important to freshmen as they go through their first year of college.

“Events like that make it so easy for anyone to feel like they’re a part of something,” said Jameson Hale, a freshman from Elk City. “There’s nothing better than being welcomed into a group that cares about you no matter your background.”

The BCM also hosts other bible studies, game nights and serves a weekly lunch on Wednesday.

“I got to meet lots of new people and how many of us like similar things,” said Kevin Jaquez, a freshman from Enid. “I thought it was funny when we all tried to go around and remember all our names.”

The BCM is located at 1020 College Blvd., east of Carter Hall.
