The 22nd Annual Alva Car Show begins on Friday and ends Sunday around the Alva downtown square. This year there is projected to be anywhere between 400-500 cars. Joe Phillips has been serving as the Coordinator of the Banc Central Big Cruise and Car Show for eight years along with Vice President of the RACE club which puts on the show.

“ I am looking forward to Friday, there is so much work that goes into getting the show ready, but after it starts it is always a blast,” said Phillips.

The events kick off on Friday at 5:45 p.m. downtown with a free cookout along with axe throwing. The Big Cruise will be downtown at 8 p.m. Following this will be the Blvd. Cruise on HWY 64, the band will start at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, events will start at 9 a.m. with the Graceful Art Exhibition along with the sidewalk art contest from 10 a.m. until noon. The Kids Pit Stop located on the Courthouse Lawn will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The car show starts at 10 a.m. until 4:40 p.m. along with axe throwing 10 a.m.-4:40 p.m.
The Little Miss Cruise and Car Show begins at 1 p.m. The Pinewood Derby kicks off at 1 p.m. as well. The Auto Cross is at 3 p.m. and the Go & Woha at 6 p.m. The Burnout will begin at 6:40 p.m. and trophies will be awarded after. Following this will be the Cruise on Oklahoma Boulevard, with the band at 8:30 p.m.
On Sunday, events include a free breakfast at 8:30 a.m. along with a chapel service and fellowship at 9 a.m. The car show runs 9 a.m. to noon. Finally, the trophies will be presented at 10:30 a.m.
