This semester is coming to an end and finals will be here next week.

How do people feel about school being almost over? Many are ready to be out of school and enjoy their summer, while others feel a bit of sadness.

I am the type of person who feels a bit melancholy as school ends. I always have been even in the past with high school and middle school. While I am glad I won’t have homework anymore for a while, I will miss the routine.

I will miss the mornings and getting ready for school. Making coffee and breakfast in the morning. Walking to class and seeing everyone walk to their classes. Going to Starbucks to get a delicious drink. There are many things that I will miss.

Right now, I can’t wait for the day that I will have nothing to do, but I know that will get boring. The first few days without school are amazing, you get to relax, sleep in and plan out your summer. Then it settles in, all the responsibilities you forgot about come rushing to your mind.

Perhaps in the summer you need to get a job or just work more hours. The anxiety starts to begin because you have been a couch potato for the past week since schools been out. Suddenly, you miss the simple routine you had made during school.

Maybe I’m the only one who has experienced this. Either way I am going to miss school for a bit, but I know life will get busy during the summer. I’ll be working, enjoying the sun, planning trips, going on trips.

Before you know it, fall semester will be here and I will start to get melancholy because my summer routine is over.
