WHAT THE HECK DOES OKLAHOMA STATE HAVE TO DO TO GET SOME RESPECT?
Tuesday night marked the third release of the College Football Playoff rankings and for the third straight week, the selection committee got it wrong!
This week they left the top four teams (No. 1 Clemson, No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Ohio St. and No. 4 Notre Dame) in the exact same order.
I was all but certain that Okla. St. did enough to jump up into that fourth spot after last weekends win over the Iowa St. Cyclones. But instead they only moved up to No. 6.
WHY IN THE WORLD IS NOTRE DAME EVEN MENTIONED IN THE PLAYOFFS?
It’s no secret that the Fighting Irish lost to the No. 1 ranked Clemson Tigers earlier in the season. What obviously is a secret though, is why they are still being considered in the playoff picture. They have played absolutely no one since that loss to the Tigers. Temple sorry about ya, but you had a good run at your undefeated record. It looks to me that playing a bunch of pansies does pay off.
WHY IS ALABAMA NOT NO. 1?
The Crimson Tide has not just won since their early loss to Ole Miss, but they have dominated teams despite having the hardest SEC schedule of all the teams in the conference.
They just walked through Miss. St. on the road last weekend and all that win was worthy of was an honorable mention in the committee’s mind. Bama should of jumped over the Tigers for the top spot especially after Clemson struggled with unranked Syracuse last weekend.
Good teams with tough schedules are getting no respect this year, while other teams-Ohio St., Notre Dame and Iowa- are getting rewarded for their sissy schedules. What the heck committee? These rankings suck!
