Both men’s and women’s cross country ran in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, last Saturday.


The Northwestern Men’s Cross Country team placed 26 at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival.


Kory Wilson finished in tenth place in school history with a time of 28:07.5. Garrison Blanton turned in a top 50 finish for the Rangers. Blanton finished 42nd.


Thirty-nine teams with 346 total runners competed in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival. Blanton fell just short of the school record by 11.1 seconds finishing with a time of 26:47.9.


Deven Marshall recorded the 14 best time in school history when he finished the crossing line with a time of 28:41.1, while Noble Buckhaults had the fourth-best time for the Rangers with a time of 28:42.4.


The Northwestern Women’s Cross Country team also competed last Saturday at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival.


Camille Lear sits with the tenth best finish in Ranger history with a time of 20:49.5. The next Ranger to finish was Mariah Mallory with a time of 21:02.9.


Madison Meyer and Jessalyn Rivet-Tissot finished closely together. Meyer finished with a time of 21:20.1, and Rivet-Tissot finished with a time of 21:20.5. Briley Yunker finished in fifth with a time of 22:20.4.


Both men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete next at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open in Hays, Kansas on Oct 12.
