Mom, wife, advisor, mentor, leader and volunteer firefighter. Candace Reim is a woman of many titles, and these are just a few of them.

Reim currently serves as the Student Services Coordinator at Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Enid campus.

As the Student Services Coordinator, Reim does recruitment and enrollment, as well as advising. She also sponsors the Northwestern Enid Leadership Council, organizes student events and helps build community relations.

“My favorite thing about my job is that no two days are the same,” Reim said. “I have tons of energy, and I am a hard worker, so I like to be kept on my toes and avoid the mundane.”

She’s accomplished many things in her time at Northwestern, including participating and completing Leadership Greater Enid, receiving Enid’s Top 10 under 40 award, serving on the local AMBUCS chapter board and becoming an honorary commander at Vance Air Force Base.

Reim says the greatest of her achievements is sponsoring the Northwestern Enid Leadership Council.

“The students that have been part of this program are graduating and doing amazing things in the community…” Reim said. “…These students amaze me every year. They are building quite a reputation for themselves in this community, and each year it gets more competitive to fill spots.”

When she’s not busy serving Northwestern, she’s busy finishing up her doctoral degree, fighting fires as a volunteer fire fighter or spending time with her 7-year-old daughter and K-9 officer husband.

Reim loves Northwestern and her job and is dedicated to helping students reach their goals in life.

“There is nothing that beats the look on a student’s face when they tell me that they couldn’t have done it without me,” Reim said. “It is very humbling to know I made a difference.”
