Growing up people are often told that if you can find a job doing something you love then you will never work a day in your life.
That is exactly what Kentrez Bell is trying to do with football. Bell is a wide receiver who just completed his senior season and put up great numbers; however, he has more to prove.
Bell was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. On Super Bowl 54 night you could find him walking down the halls of Ament Hall proudly showing off his Chiefs gear after they won the super bowl.
Growing up football was not the first thing on Bell’s mind. Bell says he was influenced to play football by one of his uncles who told him that he could be a pretty good wide receiver.
His uncle hit the nail right on the head. Bell attended Park Hill High School and helped lead his team to two state semi-final appearances on his way to being named first team all-state wide receiver.
Coming out of high school he had offers from Missouri, Kansas and Kansas State. However, a low ACT score forced Bell to readjust.
He attended the University Nebraska-Kearney until a coaching change left him wondering about the future. That is when Bell found his way to Alva as a member of the NWOSU football team.
He looks to continue his athletic career at the next level and works daily to get there. Bell went to the College Gridiron Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, over Christmas break. “I was one of the top receivers there and got invited to stay a couple extra days” Bell said.
Whether it is football or just day to day life, Bell’s main goal is to perform how he knows he can perform.
