The Northwestern Oklahoma State University football team played against Henderson State University last Saturday. After the big win last week against Monticello.
NWOSU unfortunately lost to Henderson, 47-7. This loss brings the Rangers to a 2-3 record in the Great American Conference.
The Rangers struggled to get things going throughout the game as they only had 217 rushing yards, while Henderson State had 393 yards.
Henderson State came out strong in the first half, and they were leading the Rangers 17-7 going into halftime.
Even though the Rangers lost, quarterback Trent Easley threw for 135 total yards with a touchdown and 12 of 30 completed passes.
Denzel Davis collected 61 yards on two catches and had the Rangers lone touchdown for the game.
Torrence Stevens collected three passes for 16 yards and Calion Baker had 19 yards on a single catch.
Jacob Peyton, who is less than 400 yards away from beating the programs rushing record, collected 13 yards on two receptions, and ran for 28 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, Justin Van Fleet collected NWOSU’s only turnover and had five tackles with three of them being solos. James Ellis led the Ranger’s with six tackles, and Maurice Wright Jr. had three solo tackles and five total tackles.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University football will look to bounce back after a tough loss as they host Southern Arkansas University next Saturday. Kick off is set for 2 p.m. at Ranger Field.
