Ranger football cruises to a 49-20 win on the road Saturday.
The Northwestern football team took on the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Okla. over the weekend. The Rangers entered after a heartbreaking 38-41 loss at home to Oklahoma Baptist.
The Rangers were able to strike early in the first quarter when Ranger Horatio Smith caught a 61 yard pass from Reid Miller for the touchdown.
The Crimson Storm locked up the game at 7-7 after a 57 yard run, shortly after the early score from the Rangers. Northwestern countered the SNU score by going on a scoring frenzy to end the first half. As they headed to the locker room, the Rangers held a 28-10 lead.
The Rangers picked up right where they left off in the first half, when they pushed their lead to 49-20 when the final whistle sounded in the game.
Ranger Miller led the offense with 293 yards passing and six touchdowns after completing 17 of 28 pass attempts.
Northwestern (3-5, 3-5) will face the No. 2 ranked team in the GAC, Arkansas Tech in Alva at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
