Cookies, egg nog, turkey dinners and pie. There’s only one place all those holiday treats go after they go down the hatch, and that is straight to the belly.
The only way to counter-act it is with some good ol’ fashion cardio. Nobody enjoys cardio, but in order to drop those unwanted added holiday pounds, cardio is a necessity.
There are many different ways to get a great cardio workout done, it doesn’t just have to be going for a jog outside, there are many different ways to get a sweat going and feel a lot better about the donut you ate earlier.
Jason Freeman, a senior business administration major said, “Sprint intervals on the treadmill are my favorite way to break a sweat; quick and easy.” For those who don’t enjoy long runs switching up the usual jog routine for some sprints is a smart way to go.
Brad Drury, a senior from Mississauga, Canada said, “Running poles at the baseball field is what I do for cardio, mostly because I have to, still counts though.” Cardio is cardio.
For those of you that don’t care much at all to do any sort of cardio, than you have the same mentality as junior business administration major Christian Hammerl. “I don’t do cardio; it sucks,” Hammerl said.
For some, cardio is a way of life; for some it’s a chore, and for some it doesn’t even exist in their realm of thought, either way when unwanted fat arrives at your door and invites itself in for a stay, you know who to call… Cardio.
