Q: What do you bring to the table as the new wide receiver coach here at Northwestern?

A: I would like to think I bring positive energy and a good work ethic with me. I truly believe nothing worth having in life just falls into your lap. You have to work for the things you want and dream about. My main focus, as the wide receiver coach at Northwestern, is to show our players exactly that. Success can only come from hard work, being positive and relating to the people you work with. That makes for a sound relationship and some unforgettable memories.

Q: Other than coaching technique and talent on the field, how do you plan on preparing your athletes for the future?

A: I believe in four principles: discipline, respect, trust and hard work. You should have the discipline to be on time, do your work and be prepared for the occasion. You should be respectful to your teachers, coaches and people you come in contact with. If you do those two things it leads to being able to build trust with that person. After you trust someone, you’re more willing to work hard for that person. Those four principles lead to the opportunity of being successful both on and off the field. That’s the information that I want athletes to have for the rest of their lives.
