Now I love Christmas movies and everything the snowy holiday has to offer, but Christmas in November is just unnecessary.
I am a sucker for Christmas movies, at Christmas time! It has become a tradition in my family to watch Hallmark movies at Christmas, they just put you in the spirited mood, but it is so unnecessary for networks to play them so far in advance to Christmas. By the time that time of year comes around you have seen all of those movies so when you actually get in the mood to watch one of the movies they just annoy you.
What is even more annoying is all of those stores who put their Christmas merchandise out with all of the Halloween decorations in early October which is not okay, you can’t just skip Thanksgiving. I have never understood why people feel the need to put all of the Christmas decorations out before Thanksgiving Day, like just wait a little longer and then it is fully acceptable to put your beautiful bright Christmas lights up.
Frankly Christmas music any days other than Christmas Eve and Christmas day just makes me want to pull my hair out. There is nothing wrong with an awesome rendition of “Jingle Bells” or “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” but you can only hear the same 20 songs so many times in the now 60 day run up to Christmas before you want to strangle an elf. Thankfully satellite radio and digital music players have made it easier to avoid it on local radio, but every store, business and elevator has the same hour of music playing on a loop. As childish as it is after hearing “Joy to the World” like 50 times all I can think about is the childish song they made up that goes to that songs beat. “Joy to the world, for barney’s dead, we barbequed his head, don’t worry ‘bout the body, we flushed it down the potty, and round and round it goes…and round and round it goes…and roooouuunnnddd and rouuunddd and roouunndd it goes.”
Now I hate Christmas music, but Christmas shopping is the absolute worst, because yes I want to spend hours upon hours in one store trying to fight cranky people for the right present while trying to stay sane. Then once you finally get up to the check out the cashiers who are normally forced to be somewhat dressed up for the holiday are always in such a bad mood and not that typical Christmas spirit joyous mood, wonder why! By the end of buying all of the gifts and decorating your house all out for the holiday, you just wish it was over, and then you are forced to start all over again when the next October rolls around again to bring the same pains again.
