The Lady Rangers softball team competed at the Midwestern Texas Invite on Feb. 14-15. The Lady Rangers lost three games and won one game to start of the 2020 season.
The first day of the tournament the Lady Rangers played the hosting school Midwestern. This game was the only win in the tournament for the Lady Rangers as they won 5-3.
Up next NWOSU played Cameron University. After a big win in the first game the Lady Rangers looked to keep the momentum going, but unfortunately Cameron was too much for the Lady Rangers. Game two was won by Cameron 9-1.
To start the second day of the tournament, the Lady Rangers played Nebraska-Kearney. After a tough game the game finished in six innings due to the mercy rule that came into play. Nebraska-Kearney took the game 10-2.
Game two was also played on the same day. The Lady Rangers played Regis University. After losing the first game the Lady Rangers looked to win the second game, but unfortunately they came up short and lost 10-5.
The Lady Rangers next game is against Newman University on Feb. 18. Northwestern will host Newman as the play a doubleheader. The first game starts and 2 p.m. and the second game is set to start at 4 p.m.
The original first game against Newman has been moved to March 31 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
