Northwestern Oklahoma State University was awarded two Higher Education Prevention Services grants, one for opioid prevention and the other for stimulant prevention, through the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
It is important to have Naloxone if you are prescribed opioids. According to Emergent BioSolutions Inc, Narcan is a potentially lifesaving medication designed to help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in minutes.
Since most opioid overdoses occur in the home and are most often witnessed, having a NARCAN rescue kit nearby can make all the difference.
