Northwestern Oklahoma State University is currently gearing up for one of its largest recruitment events of the year, Ranger Preview. This Saturday hundreds of high school seniors will be welcomed onto campus to learn more about Northwestern.
The event is designed to inform potential Northwestern students about the university and the opportunities available on campus. High school seniors will have the chance to visit with professors, faculty, and current students about their experiences at the university. The visitors will go on campus and dorm tours, learn about campus organizations and meet with various departments. All participants will also receive a free lunch and tickets to the football game against Southern Nazarene at 2 p.m. Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m., and President Cunningham will begin the event with a welcome statement at 10 a.m.
“It’s a great opportunity to show the many positive opportunities that Northwestern has in store for its students,” said Calleb Mosburg, dean of student affairs.
While this is a very beneficial event for high school seniors, dozens of Northwestern students and faculty participate in the event as well. Organizations and students get the opportunity to speak about personal experiences with the organizations and clubs they participate in. Department members also get the chance to inform seniors about the many various programs and opportunities offered at the university.
“It’s a really incredible event, as I get to see students, administrators, faculty, and staff at Northwestern come together as a cohesive family in order to show their pride for our university. We realize the positive impact that this event can have on future students,” Mosburg said.
