NWOSU students competing in the Computer Science and Graphics Conference came home with first and third place awards recently.
Eight students participated in the online conference for both high school and college students sponsored by the University of Tulsa. Student teams built, programmed and designed computer games that were judged in a variety of categories, including game development and design where NWOSU won awards in the college division.
The student team of Jose Granados, Blake Garnett and Jake Adair took first place with a game called “Jumpy Shooty.” The game “Split,” created by Sam Meek and Jackson Gardner, won third place.
NWOSU computer science students have competed in this event for seven years. Evan Vaverka, computer science instructor, is the faculty adviser for the NWOSU eSports/Game Programming team.
