Campus wide Blood Drive free t-shirts will be given to all donors.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University will be holding a campus wide blood drive on Sept. 29 & 30 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the student center Ranger room.
The president’s leadership class will be sponsoring the blood drive, and their goal is to have 224 successful donors for the two-day drive.
“Northwestern students and employees have a long history of supporting Oklahomans by saving lives by donating during our campus blood drives,” said Dr. Janet Cunningham President of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. “Blood drives at Northwestern conducted by the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) are some of the most successful campus drives in all of the state. That success is because of your willingness to take time and give the gift of blood.”
All students are encouraged to participate in the blood drive; it only takes about an hour of your time, and can make the difference for friends and neighbors in area hospitals. As a thank you for keeping the blood supply up this fall, all donors will receive a free t-shirt.
“I encourage all students to make an appointment,” said Rachel Stephenson-Spellman Special Events Coordinator for Northwestern Oklahoma State University. “Appointments will be taken prior to walk-ins.”
Make your appointment by calling OBI at 877-340-8777, visit OBI.org, or email Rachel Stephenson-Spellman at rsstephenson-spellman@nwosu.edu, walk-ins are welcome.
When donating, be sure to prepare yourself prior to arrival to the Ranger room. “Students need to bring a photo I.D. and eat a good meal prior to donation,” said Spellman.
