NWOSU rodeo men’s team placed third and women’s took sixth at the Colby, Kansas, Community College Rodeo last weekend.

Jaci Traul, from Fort Scott, Kansas, an MBA student at Northwestern, tied for first in breakaway roping, with 2.5 in the first go, 2.3 in the short go for 4.8 in the average. She amassed 130 points and went home with $1,391.04 in prize money.

Emmett Edler, a senior from State Center, Iowa, majoring in agriculture business, took home second in steer wrestling. He turned in a 5.1 in the first go and 4.5 in the short go for a 9.6 in the average. His 135 points earned him $343.20 in prize money.
