Northwestern suffers back-to-back at home as focus turns now to a two game road trip.
The Ranger soccer team suffered their second loss in a row Thursday as they faced the now #1 ranked Ouachita Baptist Tigers.
The Tigers managed to seal a 4-0 win over the Rangers with help from their three goals in the second half along with their 21 total shots in the game.
Saturday the Rangers took to the field, facing #2 ranked Harding.
After a solid first half for the Rangers, the Bison began to pull away in the second half as they tacked on two goals which sealed their 2-0 win.
Like the Tigers were able to do when they played the Rangers, the Bison too outshot their opponent. Northwestern only recorded a recorded six shots while the Bison recorded a remarkable 21 which was spread between 10 Bison players.
The Rangers focus now turns to a two game road trip. First they head to Shawnee, Okla. to face GAC opponent Oklahoma Baptist tonight at 6 p.m., then to Bethany, Okla. to face the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene on Saturday at 2 p.m..
Northwestern’s conference matchup tonight against the Bison will be their first as a conference foe as OBU joined the GAC over the summer.
Saturday the Rangers look to get revenge on the Crimson Storm after a year ago the conference foe blanked Northwestern, 2-0.
Players to keep an eye on for the Rangers are senior Arlet Polack, who has recorded 10 total shots and scored one goal this season, along with junior Kelsey Leveling and Alyssa Williams who each have nine shots.
Ranger goalie Briana Legaspi is also one to keep an eye on as she has recorded 87 saves and has only allowed 18 goals so far this season.
The Rangers road trip action starts tonight at 6 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla. then shifts to Bethany, Okla., on Saturday starting at 2 p.m.
