After a heartbreaking loss last Thursday against SWOSU, the Rangers looked to get back in the groove on Saturday. Unfortunately, the Savage Storm was too much to handle as the Rangers lost 91-73.

David Thornton led the Rangers with 13 points and seven rebounds for the only double-digit scorer on the team. Parrish Hewitt finished with nine points and seven rebounds. A.J. Jones was the team leader in assist with 15.

The Savage Storm came out fast in the early moments of the first half, but NWOSU brought the game back within one point. Jack Peck made a layup that tied the game at 22-22, which was followed by a three from Hewitt that gave NWOSU their first lead of the game. Southeastern then went on a 9-0 run, and was leading by eleven going into the half.

Southeastern came into the second half hot and never looked back. They opened the half with a 7-0 run and gained the largest lead of the game at 21.

The Rangers brought the game within 10, but that was a close as they could get. The Savage Storm connected on 16 three-pointers out of their 32 made field goals. Southeastern assisted on 21 of those 32 shots. NWOSU was able to knock down 29 shots assisting on 15 of them.

The Ranger’s loss will drop them to 8-16 season, 5-13 in Great American Conference. The Rangers will travel to Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas for Thursday evenings match up set for a 7:30 tip-off.
