sam_bgame_2The Rangers were crushed at home by the Hardin Bison last weekend as they suffered a three-game series sweep.

The Bison domination of the Rangers started Friday night in a doubleheader.

The Rangers were unable to get any offense going in both game one and game two as they managed only two runs total between both games.

Harding was able to capitalize on the Rangers’ poor offense on day one, getting the game one 13-1 win and game two 9-1 win.

On day two of play Saturday, Harding continued its domination of the Rangers, this time getting the win 13-6.

In game three of the series Harding put an early run on the board. The Rangers, however, answered back with a run of their own.

Ranger Matt Benn hit a solo home run to tie the game at one apiece.

Harding’s pitching shut down the Rangers bats for the next four innings, holding them to zero runs scored.

During the scoreless drought for the Rangers, Harding jumped out to an 8-1 lead.

It was not until the sixth inning when Ranger Stetson Buller fired a two-run home run over the back wall to end the scoreless drought and get the Rangers offense going again.

Trenton Earley continued the Rangers scoring in the sixth inning after he crossed the plate following a single by teammate Jeremy Smith.

Following the productive inning for the Rangers, the Bison continued to pile on the runs in the seventh inning as they pushed their lead to 11-4.

Ranger Joshua Caruso singled in the seventh inning allowing both Jason Freeman and Benn to come across the plate.

Despite the Rangers closing the Bison’s lead down to 11-6, the two RBIs by Caruso would be it for the Rangers’ scoring.

Harding would add on two more final runs in the closing innings to seal the game three 13-6 win and the series sweep over the Rangers.

This past Tuesday the Rangers faced Southern Nazarene in a non-conference match up at home to prepare for their game tomorrow against Arkansas Tech.

The Rangers destroyed the Crimson Storm, taking the contest handily 21-13.

The win moves them to 17-23 on the season and 8-16 in the GAC.

The Rangers will head on the road to Russellville, Ark. tomorrow to take on Arkansas Tech before  returning home to play Hillsdale Baptist in Enid Tuesday in preparation for their final series of the season against Southwestern at home April 24 and 25.
