The Northwestern Oklahoma State University rodeo team has wrapped up the fall season of college rodeo.
Both men’s and women’s teams are sitting well in the college standings. The men’s team is sitting fourth overall, and the women’s team is winning the region. Northwestern has a total of six cowgirls and 11 cowboys in the standings.
Northwestern has no rough stock riders in the top 15 of their events. In tie-down roping, Northwestern is represented by Hayden Pearce and William Whayne. Pearce is sitting second with a total of 260 points and Whayne is sitting seventh with a total of 130 points.
In steer wrestling, John McGinn is sitting first overall with a total of 315 points, Grayson Allred is third overall with 245 points, James Struxness is splitting sixth with Brock White, also of NWOSU, both with 180 points. Michael Edgmon is also in the top 15, sitting ninth overall with 110 points.
In team roping, on the heading side, Dalton Richards is sitting second overall with a total of 305 points. Pearce is also in the top 15, splitting 10th with 100 points. Layne Lagasse is splitting 14th with 50 points. On the heeling side, Wade Perry is splitting 10th with 100 points and Dustin Searcy is sitting 14th with 50 points.
In the women’s event of breakaway roping, three cowgirls from Northwestern are in the top 15 overall. Taige Trent is leading the region with 200 points, Karley Kile is splitting fifth with 150 points and Sage Allen is sitting eighth with 110 points.
In goat tying, Lauren Barnes is sitting second with 415 points, Shayna Miller is right behind her, sitting third with 395 points, Karley Kile comes in seventh with 115 points and Elli Price is sitting tenth with 95 points.
