McGinn a junior from Haines, Ore., who is majoring in agriculture and minoring in business said, “Overall the weekend ended really well. In the first round I drew a really good steer that we have seen at other rodeos. I didn’t get him caught well, but everything worked out in my favor. My game plan for the short round was to score sharp so I could have a quick shot at the steer. Everything went as planned and the steer worked as I thought he would be. To prepare for my next rodeo I am going to head back to the practice pen and continue to work on getting better every day.”

Northwestern is doing well in the overall Central Plains region standings. The women’s team is winning the region and the men’s team is fourth overall. In the calf roping, Hayden Pearce is second and William Whayne is splitting fourth.
