As play began on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at the Alva Sports Complex, Northwestern took on Arkansas Monticello in the final softball series of the year.
Starting things off on the mound was senior Allora Miller.
Miller would have a phenomenal game as she went the distance, allowing only four hits and recording 11 strikeouts en route to her twelfth win of the year, a game-one 5-2 win over the Cotton Blossoms.
Ranger Jordan Haya would have a stellar game at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two home runs.
Ranger Madison McGraw would have a great game at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In game two, the Rangers handily took control as Anderson had a solid game on the mound and Haya continued her solid day at the plate. Northwestern took the contest 8-2.
Anderson went the complete seven innings, allowing seven hits and recording four strikeouts.
Haya would kick off the fireworks in game two with a solo home run.
Haya would also be a key contributor in the last runs scored as she connected for a two RBI double in the sixth inning, driving in teammates Stephanie Couser and senior Lindsay Thorstenson.
The late score was just enough to seal an 8-2 victory in game two for the Rangers.
In game three on Sunday, the Rangers rallied back late to take the contest 8-7.
After falling to a 4-1 deficit through four innings, the Rangers began to make a comeback on the Cotton Blossoms.
The Rangers added a run in the fifth inning, but were countered by a three more runs by the Cotton Blossoms in the sixth.
Heading into the last inning, the Ranger bats came alive. With the bases loaded and the score tied at seven, the Cotton Blossoms catcher would record a costly error that would score Thorstenson from third.
The catcher balk gave the Rangers an 8-7 walk off victory in game three, giving them the series win with just one game to play.
In the conclusion of the series, the Rangers took a dominant 9-1 win to complete the four game sweep of Arkansas Monticello.
Getting the highlight from game four was Anderson, who pitched a complete game, grabbing her 10th win of the season.
Northwestern softball finished with an impressive 23-26 overall record and 17-19 in the GAC.
