Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Social Work and Woodward High School Key Club are joining forces once again to look for donations in the form of prom or formal dresses.

“Primp for Prom” is an annual March event for high school students from northwest Oklahoma and allows young women to pick out a prom dress at no charge.

“The Northwestern Department of Social Work is always honored to sponsor this event,” said Dr. Kylene Rehder, social work department chair and associate professor of social work. “We are thrilled with the opportunity to provide gorgeous dresses to area high school girls so they can attend their important benchmark events and banquets in style. The success of this event relies on the generosity of others, therefore we are so grateful to our donors.”

Students will be able to choose from all sizes, styles and colors that are donated. A fitting room also will be available for trying on dresses.

The event time and date will be posted at a later time.

“The only set location of drop off is at Woodward High School,” Rehder said. “If people want to donate dresses from other locations, they can contact Janet Valencia or myself and we will make arrangements to pick up dresses. We also have people assigned at the Enid campus location as well to pick up dresses.”

To donate please email Rehder at kdrehder@nwosu.edu; Valencia at jivalencia@nwosu.edu; or drop dresses off at Woodward High School at 13th and Downs Avenue in Woodward, (580) 256-2858.
