The first season of Bull came to television with an all new way of laying down the law. Dr. Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly) is an expert in his field, and his chosen field is psychology and trial science.
As the head of the Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC) Bull uses his expertise as a psychologist, his intuition, and high tech data to help his clients. His job is to analyze a court room and all the people in it. Bull must then use his analysis to help his client and his client’s lawyers to convince the jury of the client’s innocence.
By being able to see inside the minds of those who may want to convict his clients, Bull is able to manipulate the hearings by swaying the jury in his favor. This gives him the upper hand in the trials and leads to successfully proving his client’s innocence, even when the case proves challenging.
With the technology at his disposal, Bull can see what the jury’s decision will be before they even reach their final decision or before they even make their first decision. By knowing who is against his clients Bull can determine who the lawyers need to focus on to win the case. He can take what he learns about each person in the court room and use it to persuade them to change their mind, by using questions that will get him the results he wants.
When the son of a millionaire comes to his door, Bull uses his knowledge to spot the juries dislike for one of the lawyers, to find a way to make the jury feel a connection to his client, and to find the truth behind his client’s involvement in the case.
