ChrisIn the heart of Northwest Oklahoma is where Alva is located. Basically, one could describe this community of approximately 5,000 indigenes as the middle of nowhere. However, the cosmopolitan nature of the town is one of its kinds, owing to the size and population demographics. An inseparable aspect of Alva is the college. As a matter of fact, the town is brought into the spotlight by being home for the college.

The Fall semester is gradually beginning to sprint. It is usually packed with activities both at the collegiate level, community and national as well. A few are the commencement of the sports seasons, car show, homecoming, Halloweens, Thanksgiving among others. Is there any course to be in anticipation of any of these events due to their annual and routine nature? The obvious answer is no since we’ll know what they entail and bring. But, there is actually a lot to look forward to.

New faulty members, new sports coaches and an NCAA division two status should at least merit excitement and anticipation. The football team will begin playing on their new field with a higher status under the auspices of a new coach, who won a championship. It couldn’t get any better than this. They deserve our uttermost support and well wishes. You should incorporate attending their games into our schedules if we haven’t already. The basketball teams go at it again with their high intensities and excellence. Dominance and resilience will be exhibited by the volleyball team when it kicks starts the season. The sports seasons gives credence on the essence of being a ranger. It is a unifying period that highlights the relevance of how one is privileged to be part of a school that excels at sports.

More so, the multifaceted nature of Northwestern cannot be overemphasized. The music department has some new heads for the stellar choirs and school band. The wonderful concerts will continue unabated with new touches of awesomeness the instructors bring to complement the status quo of the groups. Personally, I’m looking forward to the homecoming parade this year because it will be amazing. There’s a lot more to be said but I don’t want to bore you with them. Why don’t you look out for them if you’ve been on the side of pessimism to have a paradigm shift into optimism?

There is no better time to a Ranger than now! Ride Rangers ride, with pride!
