To start off Homecoming week Northwestern Oklahoma State volleyball hosted Henderson State.
It was an even match with both teams refusing to give the other any headway, but the Rangers used their tough defense to edge Henderson State University throughout the match 1-3.
Senior Kiauna Clark tallied on another fantastic game for the Rangers as she earned 17 and five total blocks.
Jennifer Eubanks and Kaydee Honeycutt earned 11 kills a piece with six and five blocks respectively.
Freshman Alexi Beach had herself a game with 4 kills and seven total blocks.
Kaitlyn Robinson earned 37 of the 47 assists in the match while Sydnee Miller tallied a team-leading 23 digs.
The first set showed a lot of fight form Northwestern as they had to battle to keep themselves above water.
The Rangers fell 4-1 in the early half of the first set.
After a back and forth battle with sixteen different ties and lead changes three straight attack errors gave the Rangers the 29-27 win.
Henderson State came back in the second set. This gave the Black-and-Red their first set loss 20-25.
A five-point run, with an exclamation point service ace from Robinson gave the Rangers a 21-18 lead in the latter half. third 25-19.
The fourth set was all about Northwestern as they went on a 10-1 run. A battle for the fourth set then ensued as neither team gave much leeway.
Clark continued to stand out as she sent the final kill to the court to take the match and fourth set 25-22.
Next, the Rangers took on Ouchita Baptist on Oct. 26. NWOSU volleyball earned their seventh win at home as they took on Ouachita Baptist.
The Rangers were able to pull out the win 3-1.
Northwestern fell behind early in the early part of the first half 13-7, but the Rangers won the first set 25-23.
The second set was a wild one with 15 ties and lead changes in set two alone; however the Rangers won 29-27.
Northwestern seemed to take their mom
entum into the third set, but the Tigers hung around for long enough to give themselves an opportunity in the latter half of the set. They won 25-23.
A 10-2 run for the Black-and-Red solidified the Rangers fourth set victory as they added an exclamation point win 25-17 to take the match 3-1.
The Rangers are scheduled to continue their home play in Percefull Fieldhouse on Thursday Oct. 31 to play Southeastern Savage Storm at 7 p.m.
