The Northwestern Oklahoma State Volleyball Rangers bounced back this weekend as they beat Southern Arkansas 3-0 and Arkansas-Monticello 3-1, improving their record to 15-7 overall.
In the first set of the game, the Muleriders came out strong and ready while the Lady Rangers got off to a slow 1-6 start.
Freshmen Kaydee Honeycutt and senior Brooklyn Hesson had kills that sparked a 4-0 run, cutting Monticello’s lead down to just two.
Hesson ended the game with 10 kills.
The first set was a close score of 23-22 with a Lady Ranger lead by one.
Seniors Kiauna Clark and Jennifer Eubanks come through with some clutch blocks to lead the team to a 25-23 win in the first set.
Clark and Eubanks finished with four blocks apiece, which led leading their defense.
In the second set the Lady Rangers found themselves down again early, but our Lady Rangers pushed through going on a 6-0 run that would give them the lead the rest of the way.
In the last match, sophomore Kaitlyn Robinson assisted for 10 of her 34 assists.
The Lady Rangers would go on to post 4 aces.
The Muleriders were silenced after that being put down 25-22 to end the game.
The Lady Rangers finished their week with a win over Monticello in a 3-1 fashion, improving their conference record to to 4-3 on the year.
“We really needed to get these two wins for the conference,” head coach Jeremey White said. “We had some ups and downs but we did a great job of battling through adversity.”
The next game for the Lady Rangers will be Oct 5. as they take on Arkansas Tech in another conference matchup at home.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
