The Northwestern volleyball team suffered a big loss against rival Southwestern Bulldogs for the last game of the season on Nov. 10. The Rangers started out their final game of the season with Senior Night. It was there that five seniors were mentioned at the last game of the season. Natalie Fahey, Hayley Brattain, Noralia To’omalatai, Asia Pipkin and Vanessa Maile were the five seniors who were honored at the start of the game.
As the game got underway, the Rangers kicked off with a strong start in the beginning of the first quarter until it came to a tie of 15-15. The Bulldogs ended the first set of the match with a 25-20 victory over the Rangers.
When the second match began, it looked like the Rangers might not recover until senior Hayley Brattain was able to give the Rangers a huge comeback to make it close. The Bulldogs ended the second set with a 25-22 lead.
When the third set began, the Rangers were able to kick it up with a 10-5 lead for the first half. With the Bulldogs trying to catch up, the Rangers were able to keep a slight lead for a short while but came up short when the Bulldogs ended the match with 25-23, finishing the game with the match of 3-0. This closed out the season for Rangers volleyball team.
Next for the Rangers will be going into their off-season to prepare for next season, as well as the Great American Conference next year.
