It is time to spread a little kindness, Northwestern! Accept the challenge of spreading kindness around campus this week by completing good deeds for others. This is the time of the semester when most college students start to feel a little homesick.
The excitement of the new school year has settled down, and classes are in full swing, causing the typical student to feel a little overwhelmed and in need of some random acts of kindness.
Therefore, your challenge (if you choose to accept it) is to complete at least five good deeds for your fellow college students this week. Having trouble with this challenge? Not a problem; here are some suggestions to get you started.
– Write a thank you note to someone you see who is working extra hard and could use a little cheering up.
– Take someone that is having a rough day out to dinner. It could help turn his or her entire day around.
– Help out the custodial staff by picking up trash that you see lying around campus.
– Help someone take a load off by carrying their books to class for them.
– Buy someone a soda or snack without he or she even asking.
– Make a thank-you banner for a hard working professor and tape it to their door.
– Make cookies for the entire class to enjoy. Maybe bring a couple pieces of fruit for those that do not eat sweets.
– Put together a care package to cheer up a sick friend in need, include items mom would make, like chicken noodle soup.
– Pull a friend struggling in classes into a study group to help them out.
– Offer a friend without a car a ride to the store for grocery shopping.
These are just some suggestions to get you started. Be creative and think of your own ways to spread the kindness across Northwestern throughout the week.
