On Nov. 4 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., a recycling panel will convene to discuss recycling possibilities in northwest Oklahoma.

The panel is sponsored by Conserving Our Ranger Environment as well as Student Government Association and will be located at Education Center 108 in Alva, Room 210 in Enid and Room 143 in Woodward. The locations will be connected through ITV.

The panel will consist of Northwestern Oklahoma State University President Janet Cunningham, Chris Feeney, president of Keep Enid Green, Dr. Deena Fisher, Woodward Dean, Dr. Bo Hannaford, Northwestern dean of professional studies and Alva city councilman, Eric Hemphill, the sustainability coordinator at University of Central Oklahoma, Dr. Wayne McMillin, Northwestern dean of Enid, Kelly Parker, Mayor of Alva and Nick Villalobos, Northwestern Student Government Association vice president.

The CORE president, Chris Satterfield, and Vice President Stephanie Quammen will serve as the moderators for this conversational panel.

Steven Mackie, associate professor of education, who is also in charge of CORE said, “ We are really hoping to bring people together to brainstorm some ideas on how we could get either a Northwestern campus-wide recycling going or maybe even bigger for the whole city of Alva.”

Quammen said, “Our goal is to raise awareness about recycling on all the Northwestern campuses. Enid already has a recycling program, but we are hoping that even through this panel maybe they could expand on the program they currently have.”
