She hurried across the campus lawn continuously glancing at her watch to reassure herself that she would make it on time.

This is how Seanna Randall, sophomore at Northwestern, could be seen making her way to her 8 a.m. class on Tuesday.

“I don’t like to be late,” Randall said. “It always makes me feel irresponsible, so I try to plan ahead to avoid that feeling.”

In relation to her striving to be punctual, Randall’s upcoming months include a series of deadlines as her family prepares to move to Dominica, an island in the Caribbean. The Randall family has to make sure that all of their documents, belongings and living arrangements are planned far in advance.

Even though preparing for the move may be stressful for the Randall family at times, they have a number of activities planned to help them appreciate the things that Dominica has to offer, like its diving and hiking.

“A unique opportunity has risen, and the location offers a lot of outdoor activities that my family enjoys participating in,” Randall said. “I am excited for the snorkeling and observing the sea animals in the area, specifically the jellyfish.”

Although Randall will be moving to another county in May, she plans on taking courses offered in the United States.

“I still plan on continuing my education,” she said. “I took an online course through Northwestern, and it was an enjoyable experience that makes me more confident in taking future online courses.”

Despite the fact that Randall was only able to spend two years on Northwestern’s campus, she learned a lot in her time here.

“My time at Northwestern has been a time of growing and learning more about myself and others,” she said. “It has prepared me to go onto new and different experiences.”
