Anyone interested in helping to organize random acts of kindness for Kindness Day should plan to meet Thursday at 4 p.m. in the J.W. Martin Library.
This is the third year that NWOSU has participated in the event, which is set for Nov. 10.
The group organizing the events at NWOSU will report to the United Way of Northwest Oklahoma in Enid, which is in charge of the event for all of Northwest Oklahoma.
World Kindness Day is observed each year on Nov. 13, which is a Monday, but area organizers decided to celebrate on the Friday before that.
Kindness Day began in 1998 to promote kindness throughout the world. It is observed in many other countries.
The United Way of Northwest Oklahoma began observing the day in 2015 and brought Northwestern in three years ago.
Valarie Case, assistant director of university relations who is coordinating the day, asks that anyone with activities that day contact her so she can share with the United Way. Contact her at vcase@nwosu.edu.
