He also highlighted more of the opportunities Northwestern has to offer, such as the scholarship programs, the affordability, the Inspire to Teach program and other teacher ed programs.
“We’re seeing some increased numbers within our teacher ed program and our nursing program,” Mosburg said. “Things are rolling; we are doing really well.”
Another factor was Northwestern’s social work program. Mosburg said the program has had retention rates of 90+% each semester, and the fall-to-spring retention rate was 100%.
“These are good things to celebrate,” Mosburg said.
In 2019, the overall head count at Northwestern was 1,983 students. In the fall of 2020, the head count was 1,835. In 2021, the head count was 1,789. 2022’s head count was 1,849.
The preliminary report that was turned into the Regents office for this year showed a head count of 1,928 for this fall semester of 2023.
“We’re about even to where we were in 2019, as far as the numbers for on-campus in Alva,” Mosburg stated. “We’re making strides in the right direction, and I believe we’re equipped to hit good numbers again next year.”
